Fine Art Insights Submission Guidelines

If you are interested in being covered in Fine Art Insights, please read the submission guidelines in full. Michael is selective regarding the topics he covers, but is open to submissions and suggestions. Please do not add Michael to mailing lists. He will only reply to individual pitches. Michael is currently accepting pitches for topic areas listed below. He does not accept pitches for individual artist profiles.

Advertising and Sponsored Content

If you are interested in advertising on the blog or sponsoring content, please note that the cost to place a one time ad in one blog post would start at $150. To sponsor an advertorial style post about a specific exhibition or other program the cost would start at $250 and would come with one mention on Michael’s social media pages. Sponsored posts would be limited at about 500 words and no more than 3 images.

Exhibition Reviews

Michael primarily reviews exhibitions in the Northeast. If you’d like to have an exhibition covered, please send a detailed press release with exhibition venue, dates, artists, etc. It is ideal to send such pitches about three weeks prior to the start of an exhibition.

Market News, Auctions, Etc.

Michael is interested in news from the auction and retail markets for fine art. Please do not send releases about topics in design, decorative arts, jewelry, etc. If you are an auctioneer or a commercial gallery with a sales-related story you think might be of interest, please send a detailed press released with pertinent information.

Book Reviews

Michael is open to reviewing submissions of non-fiction related to the visual arts. To review a book, Michael requires a press copy of the publication. The receipt of a press copy does not guarantee a review. To inquire about a review please email Michael the details on the publication, date of release, etc., and he will let you know if he would like to review it.

Architecture, Film, Etc.

Michael is open to writing about other areas of visual culture like architecture, film, etc., if there is a connection to the visual arts.

For Outside Writers

If you are a writer interested in publishing your own post on Fine Art Insights, please note that Michael does not currently seek or commission outside reviews or essays, although he is open to publishing emerging writers. When pitching as a writer, please email Michael with the details of a specific piece you would like to publish along with links to samples of three examples of your work.
